Product Overview
The Bio-Chem Plate Washer employs non-contact centrifugal technology to efficiently remove liquid from 96-well, 384-well, and 1536-well microplates without the need for disposable tips. This environmentally friendly technology enables contamination-free operation for cell-based assays, bead-based assays, genomics experiments, and ELISA assays — with zero residual liquid, thereby completely eliminating background interference and result variability in detection data. The integrated dispensing module further dramatically enhances the overall operational efficiency of assay workflows.
Product Features
1. Centrifugal Method
The Bio-Chem Plate Washer uses centrifugal technology rather than aspiration to clear liquid from microplates. Through its centrifugation mechanism, the microplate rotates around a horizontal axis, and liquid is expelled from the wells under centrifugal force, immediately exiting the rotor chamber via a passive drainage system. Centrifugal liquid removal significantly reduces residual volume and variability during media exchange or supernatant removal. Lower background noise and variability translate to higher-quality, more reproducible data for cell screening. In magnetic bead-based assays, the Bio-Chem Plate Washer eliminates the need for disposable tips, minimizes bead loss, and dramatically shortens operating cycles.
2. Liquid Input
In standard configuration, up to seven input ports can deliver liquids to a shared dispensing head and internal fluid channels. Each liquid input port is independently addressable and can be calibrated via the Bio-Chem Plate Washer's built-in software.
3. Multi-Plate Adapter Compatibility
Angled or straight dispensing heads are available for 6-well, 12-well, 24-well, 48-well, 96-well, 384-well, and 1536-well plates. The Bio-Chem Plate Washer's graphical user interface supports selection of cell-friendly dispensing modes, minimizing the loss of weakly adherent or suspension cells.
4. Linear Drive System
The Bio-Chem Plate Washer's linear drive technology positions plates with micrometer-level precision during the dispensing process, ensuring that dispensing nozzles accurately reach the target wells for each application. For example, dispensing nozzles can be directed toward the leading edge of the well wall, thereby preventing detachment of sensitive cells.
